Digital Illustrations (July to October)

Moon Gleam

This is an illustration of a character drawn with Photoshop. I finished this piece during the few weeks of summer camp at the Berkeley SIG program. As I created this, I wanted to add a stronger sense of contrast so I purposefully placed the light source behind. I then drew a bright outline to express that.

Character design 2

In this picture, I drew a girl with light blue hair and an orange coat. I liked the color combinations I used in this because it incorporated bold and stimulating complementary colors.

I drew this character design when I just moved into a boarding school away from home. I am glad that digital art can accompany me through this drastic transition by helping me settle down and focus.

Fake a Smile

This is my most recent piece of a girl smiling and leaning against a wall. I drew this as a coloring practice to create more contrast and dramatical lighting. One technique I used was replacing the dark color of the terminator with bright orange to accentuate the sensation of a strong light source. In the end, I am satisfied with my drawing and I witnessed great improvement in my coloring.
